As part of our Culture Club programme, we invited a group of people to an intimate guided tour of 14 Henrietta Street followed by a workshop with Artist in Residence at 14 Henrietta Street, Orlagh Meegan-Gallagher.

Orlagh, a visual and textiles artist, spoke about the women of 14 Henrietta Street and explored the fabrics, embroidery and sewing done over the 300 years of the building's life. The group tried out some of the stitches and their work will be added to a textile art piece that Orlagh is creating during her residency.

One participant had this to say about the experience: "We got to talk to Orlagh about her work on the women of the time and got to see and feel what material was used to make their clothes. I left the house so much richer and so happy as I walked back down the Dublin Streets."

The Artist in Residence programme at 14 Henrietta Street is ongoing, and Culture Club will be providing more opportunities for people to connect with the artists as they develop creative responses to the museum. You can find out more by signing up to the Culture Club newsletter.

Culture Club invites you to explore Dublin’s cultural places together with other people. Join us for free talks, tours and activities, followed by complimentary tea, coffee and chats.
